This alien encounter image was created for the NASA Remix Challenge #8 – Eye In Space. over on Flickr. The image I chose to include in my photo manipulation was an image of the Cat’s Eye Nebula and some parts of a photo showing Patfinder Airbags.
The story behind the picture goes something like this… For years this race of aliens were told how wonderful, kind, and creative the humans living on planet earth were so they decided to pay a visit. The problem was that they had no idea what a human looked like. So they sent on envoy to Earth and find one human… obviously he’s still looking!
NASA has made available hundreds if not thousands of photos for anyone to use without restriction. You can find some fantastic images: NASA Gallery and GRIN – Great Images in NASA and of course NASA images
Photo Attributions: This photo manipulation uses images with permission from the sheep and the landscape and the texture.
This little Flickr group also received some press recently on the Smithsonian Air And Space Blog now how cool is that!
